  23. But the cost of a CDROM AND a hard drive would be higher than an ZIP 
  24. drive, and AT would want to keep the 'low-end' machine as cheap as 
  25. possible. The CDROM and hard drive could be optional if the machine came 
  26. with a ZIP as standard.

  28. Anyway, all machines need some other form of media - whtether floppy 
  29. drive or ZIP in order to get other than commercial programs, data files 
  30. etc. A floppy drive is virtually useless as a backup device these days, 
  31. but is still useful for transfering documents, PD software etc.

  33. I would like to see more ZIP drives around as it would lower the cost of 
  34. the media.

  41. The real point is that AT are probably too 'chicken' to take on some of 
  42. these innovative ideas...
